95 lbs. Healthier

It taught me a whole new way of life. My new line is ' I don't live to eat, I eat to live.' They have taught me to do that.

Interviewer: What made you consider weight loss surgery?

Georgia: The reason why I decided on weight loss surgery is two fold. One ó my momís side of the family. There is a history of heart disease, stroke, as well as high blood pressure and diabetes. I didnít have any of those factors, yet I knew that if I continued the way I was as far as how heavy I was, if I didnít make a life style change and have someone help me make that lifestyle change, that I would be going down that path as well.
"MBS was very honest and told me the risks and the benefits. Once I made that decision, I knew that I had to work hard at it as well because this was going to be a tool."

Two ó I was having chronic back and knee pain from the weight. Being 27, I thought that was way too young to be dealing with any type of pain in your back and knees that was chronic. So I decided to go to MBS because I was told about Dr. Georgen and Dr. Wasco being trauma surgeons; and I heard such wonderful things. I actually considered doing it 6 years ago with the Bariatric Treatment Centers of America in Illinois. The doctors were not informative and, I felt, not very honest. Based on when I went to the informational meeting, MBS was very honest and told me the risks and the benefits. Once I made that decision, I knew that I had to work hard at it as well because this was going to be a tool.
